Starting Paragraphs

Here is a place to spontaneously write a paragraph or two that could start a story. Do not post stuff from stories previously written; I have found that paragraphs written on the spot can often be better (and also not as long so people don't just skip over reading them).

Now, I may as well do the first one:

At the age of seven, I met my soul mate. At the time, I did not know that she was my soul mate, and I did not know what she would come to mean to me. I did not know that she would become closer than a best friend, closer than a sister. But I know now.

We grew up together, and we were pretty good friends throughout high school. I started getting feelings for her in about tenth grade. There was a school dance next Friday, and I was going to ask her to it. I asked her, and she was so excited when she accepted. When the night came, she asked me if she could ride with me, but since I bought her flowers, I wanted to be waiting at the school for her to get there. So I told her that she should ride with her friends. There were going to be 6 people in one of those 5 person cars, so it was going to be a little crammed. I was waiting at the dance with my best friend, Joe (just a random name), when another friend of ours came running up to us, crying. I asked her what was the matter and all she could get out was tears and mumbling. Eventually, after a few minutes of asking around, we found out that the car that my date was riding in ran head on into a drunk driver, due to the fact that the driver was swerving on the road and couldn't control his actions much. The driver of my date's vehicle could not turn out of the way because the car was too crammed and he could not move his arm fast enough to escape the fate. The car burst into flames, the students trapped in the burning vehicle because the frame was bent in such a way that made the doors un-open able. Seven beings were lost in that accident: the driver, my date, my close friend in between the passenger seat and the driver seat, the passenger, two twins in the back seats, and my future love.
